Internal audit training

Continuous improvement is a key aspect of compliance to food safety standards. It includes verification of food safety principles such as HACCP, HARPC and HARM systems, plus prerequisite programmes. Where there are gaps in compliance or areas for improvement, this means that non-conformance (corrective and preventive action) or improvement (remedial and proactive action) must be put in place.

A truly robust continuous improvement system will ensure that the business’ systems are effective, which then will ensure compliance every day. We believe that if you look after your internal audit training programme, the internal audits will look after everything else. This means that staff who are accountable and responsible for continuous improvement, must be the most knowledgeable members of your team – as they’re your early warning system. They will identify issues before they cause a problem and before an external auditor spots them. Staff carrying out internal audit training (this includes both system audits and GMP inspections) must be trained, in both internal auditing and also the topic(s) that they’re going to be auditing. Staff involved in root cause analysis must also be trained.

Role-based training

Each unit of training is developed with a specific role in mind. The following table identifies the training unit that’s applicable for each role.

Pre-built training courses

Using our mini trainings, we’ve pre-built training courses to suit the roles of internal auditor, inspector and those managing the internal audit programme and non-conformance system.

Each is designed to suit the learner – so that they’re taught what they need to know, in detail, in a way which they’ll understand because it’s relevant to their role.

If you would rather choose your own individual units of training, that’s fine too – you can build your own.
