Practical TACCP & VACCP training for every member of your team
Effective product defence (TACCP and VACCP) requires input from across the business. Your product defence team may include people from technical, procurement, operations, HR, security, IT, logistics and contract management – but they don’t all need exactly the same training.
Our role-based product defence training gives each member of your team the knowledge they need to carry out their responsibilities effectively, without making them complete training that isn’t relevant to their role.
The courses cover the principles associated with TACCP and VACCP, including product fraud, sabotage and terrorism, and provide a practical methodology for identifying vulnerable threats throughout the supply chain, assessing their significance and putting appropriate protection measures in place.
The methodology used within the training is traceable to PAS 96 and has been developed specifically for businesses operating to food and related certification standards.

Product Defence for Team Leaders
The most comprehensive option in the range. This course covers the complete product defence process, including understanding product defence, managing the product defence system, identifying vulnerabilities upstream, internally and downstream, and assessing and protecting vulnerable threats.
It’s designed for those who need a broad understanding of the complete product defence system and how the different members of the product defence team contribute to it.
Product Defence for Technical Team Members
Designed for technical members of the product defence team. Learners develop an understanding of product defence and learn how to identify vulnerable threats, assess their significance and determine appropriate protection measures.
It also covers the technical team’s role in identifying vulnerabilities associated with the upstream supply chain.
Product Defence for Procurement
Designed specifically for procurement members of the product defence team.
The course focuses on identifying vulnerabilities within the upstream supply chain, including the threats associated with materials and suppliers, before assessing their significance and determining appropriate protection measures.
Product Defence for Operations, HR, Security and IT
Designed for departmental members of the product defence team who are responsible for identifying vulnerabilities within the site.
Learners develop an understanding of product defence before focusing on internal vulnerabilities associated with areas such as people, operations, security and site systems. They then learn how to assess vulnerable threats and determine appropriate protection measures.
Product Defence for Logistics and Contract Managers
Designed for members of the product defence team who manage contractors, logistics or other activities within the downstream supply chain.
The course teaches learners how to identify downstream vulnerabilities associated with contractors and service providers before assessing significant threats and determining the protection measures required.
One product defence system – role-based training
Product defence isn’t just a technical department responsibility. A robust product defence plan depends on a multidisciplinary team being able to identify vulnerabilities throughout the complete supply chain – upstream, within the site and downstream.
Giving everyone the same generic TACCP or VACCP course can mean that large parts of their training aren’t relevant to the job they actually do.
Our role-based approach allows you to train each person in the areas they’re responsible for, while ensuring that everyone works to the same product defence methodology.
This creates a knowledgeable, coordinated product defence team that can identify threats, assess vulnerabilities and implement effective protection measures to reduce the risk of fraud, sabotage, terrorism and other deliberate attacks on your products and business.

Poppy Herbert –
I’m enjoying the course so far! The course is laid out really well – it’s equally informative and engaging (which I think some online courses often get the balance between these wrong).
I like how it not only explains product defence but provides all the tools to understand how to put these in place as well.
Sophie Dickinson –
Great course, really helpful and easy to follow. There was quite a bit of repetition around the standard requirements, however overall the course exceeded my expectations.
Nick Skew –
Great course. Mind stretching! Now the hard work begins.
Anna Alimadhi –
I really enjoyed the course, the set up of units broke the subject into easy to absorb chunks. Following the lessons guide along the slides was great too as I was able to quickly go back if I needed some clarification or reminder.
Nick Pancholi – Pukka Pies –
This was a very well presented course and extremely useful. Being a visual learner myself, the theory supported by the imagery aided my understanding a lot and helped complete the sections in a shorter time frame. Furthermore, it was great to see the content was created taking into account the requirements from the different standards.
Andrew Paton – Red Deer Herbs –
This was an interesting course that was split into relevant sections and was set at a good pace. The layout of the course notes were easy to understand with examples, illustrations and tables, as well as references to relevant industry standards.
Mel Allen –
Thanks, Andrew -we’re glad that you found the course well presented, which enabled you to understand easily.
Kieran Snowden – Flatfish –
A very well-informed course, tackling all aspects of product defence!
The course module breakdown made for an excellent opportunity to further communicate and develop the wider business.
Easy to follow material with excellent real-world examples of how product defence impacts all stages of the supply chain.
Mel Allen –
Thanks for your comments Kieran, product defence impacts all areas of the business in how its connected to different parts of the supply chain, so we’re really pleased that you’ve been able to see and use this for your business development.
Annelyse, Consolidated Biscuits –
The course was easy to follow and relatable to our current operations.
Leanne Ford – Shoda Sauces –
Excellent course!.
I have used the product defence book previously, however this course has really been useful.
It is also great that there are separate modules for different roles in the business which my team have found useful and excellent courses.
I am currently using Techni-K for many courses!
Mel Allen –
Thanks Leanne, we believe that training is more valuable when role-based for those who need to learn what is relevant to them. It means the training is more focused, wastes less time and is more engaging. This is one of our best selling courses so we’re really happy that you thought it was excellent, we wrote this course from a role perspective as product defence is a team effort on site and we think this approach really works.
Andrew King –
Excellent course. Very easy to follow, the tests throughout and assessment at the end of each unit work really well. Purchased specific courses for each department following this training.
Mel Allen –
Thanks for your feedback on the course Andrew, we created this suite of training for product defence for the exact purpose you’ve mentioned – where those who are a part of your product defence team can now train for compliance in the specific part of the supply-chain they work in. We’re really glad you’ve been able to use the efficiency our training provides and hope its successful if its used in your systems and procedures.
Steve Lockie –
Explained very well. Felt I had a really good grasp of what was required.
Practical enough that I could write our Product Defence system based on the exact approach of the course
Katherine Patterson –
Great course with good reference to industry practices. Having the tests after each unit was a good idea and I feel it helped with engagement.
Keith Cottrell – Pukka Pies –
Great course, really well presented. I did all the modules in quick succession so the repetition was more apparent but not a problem as helped cement some of the key points. Will be getting members of my team to do this course.
Mel Allen –
Thanks for your comments Keith, when you book for your team members, remember to contact us so we can tailor their training to the parts of the supply chain they are associated with.
