What does the maintenance management course cover?
The course contains four units:
Unit 1: Understanding Maintenance Compliance
Develop a clear understanding of why maintenance controls are important and how maintenance can affect product safety, quality, legality and operational performance. Learners are introduced to the different elements of the maintenance system and how planned preventive maintenance, maintenance workflow management and project management work together. The unit also considers maintenance culture and the progression from reactive maintenance towards a more proactive approach.
Unit 2: Managing the Maintenance System
Learn how to develop and manage the overall maintenance system and the procedures required to control maintenance activities. This includes defining the scope of the system, responsibilities, equipment and materials controls, maintenance facilities, contractors, maintenance records and the arrangements needed to ensure that maintenance doesn’t introduce a risk to product.
Unit 3: Maintenance Workflow Management
Learn how to control the day-to-day maintenance activities taking place within the facility. The unit covers the practical management of maintenance work, including breakdowns and repairs, temporary repairs, equipment handback, tools and materials, lubricants, calibration and other controls needed to ensure that maintenance work doesn’t compromise the product or production environment.
Unit 4: Project Management
Learn how to manage changes to facilities and equipment using a structured, risk-based project management process. The course covers projects of different sizes, from relatively small equipment or facility changes through to larger projects, and explains how risks must be identified and controlled throughout the process. It also covers equipment commissioning and the checks needed before new or modified equipment is released into production.
