About this training…

This training is the food industry’s most up-to-date version, of the old-fashioned Basic Food Hygiene training or Level 2 Food Safety training.

This food safety and GMP course is designed specifically for operatives working in storage an ditribution and is delivered on our online training dashboard.

In this training course, we will take you on a virtual tour of Swift Deliveries, who store and distribute food and food packaging.

You’ll arrive at site as a new employee and will be sent by security to reception to sign in, before you complete your induction with Barbara. You’ll meet the friendly site team, starting with Karmen who’ll take you on a tour of the external areas, before you enter the staff entrance and look around the facilities. When you’ve got changed and entered the warehouse you’ll follow the process; looking at how materials are received and put into storage. Your visit will take you through the storage areas with Ali, Aaliyah and Ben. You’ll pop into the washroom to see Steph and then head into the picking area to meet Maryam. Finally, Terry and Ste will show you around the dispatch area.

As you move around the site, you’ll learn about food safety and GMP relevant to the storage and distribution of food and packaging, such as temperature control, bulk tankers and much, much more!

For storage of food, the most important food safety factor is temperature. This is explained in detail, so that the operative can appreciate how important it is and what to do if they find a problem.

Product security

Product defence is a growing subject in our industry and protecting the product throughout the supply-chain is a fundamental control. During the course, the operative learns how the security is used to protect the product from malicious contamination and theft. It also explains why theft of printed packaging is an issue and the implications if it gets into the wrong hands.


If your site has tankers, or your drivers are responsible for tankers then they need to understand CIP. The course explains how it works and how CIP is monitored to make sure it’s worked correctly. Even if your driver isn’t responsible for doing these checks, the results of them will impact them, so an awareness of it will help them in their role.
