For security purposes, we only allow files to be opened within the audIT.app system in a browser setting- which means you must be logged in to get access to the files. If you’re accessing files from a link that has been sent to you on email from the system and you cannot access the file – it’s because you need to log into audIT.app beforehand. Login, then click the link again.

There are however two different ways you can open files:

1. Opening files directly in the browser (recommended):
  • This option is useful for files like images, PDFs, or text documents that can be easily displayed within the browser window.
  • It provides a quicker way to view the content without needing to save it to your computer first.
2. Downloading files to your computer:
  • This option downloads the file to a designated folder on your computer, allowing you to choose which application to use for opening it. All files in the audIT.app system are Microsoft and Windows type files, so you must have these installed on your PC enabling you to open them. If your PC doesn’t have the application to open the file, it will ask you to choose one from a pop-up window that will be displayed. Talk to your IT department if there’s something you need on your PC to handle the file type.
  • It provides more control over how the file is handled and offers the opportunity for the operating system or antivirus software to scan the file before it’s opened.
  • This method is generally safer for files that are not natively supported by the browser or for files that might pose a security risk. Please note, that audIT.app only uses well known file types that can be typically opened by most systems.

If you want to control how to open the files in audIT.app once you’ve logged in, you can amend your browser settings below:

Open settings in Edge:
