The BRCGS can update any of the Standards, at any time, by publishing BRCGS Position Statements.
The requirements laid out in these position statements become part of the Standard, from the date specified. If you have your audit after this date and have not implemented the requirements of the position statement, you will get a non-conformance – so it’s really important you know about them and implement them.
However, BRCGS don’t notify you when they publish a position statement. So, it’s up to you to check regularly to see if they have published any position statements which apply to the Standard that you’re working to.
Here, we’ll explain how to find any published BRCGS position statements – as they’re not too easy to find.
We’ll also provide you with information about any published position statements and we’lll keep this information up to date, so you can check this page at any time and find what you need (rather than having to dig around the BRCGS website).
We’ll also notify you when a position statement is published and direct you to this page for the information you need, if you subscriber to Techni-K Smart Knowledge. So, sign up below if you’ve not already done so.

Want to find them yourself?
No problem, here’s how you find them…
1. Go to the BRCGS website: https://www.brcgs.com/
2. Click the first menu item ‘BRCGS’
3. Click on which Standard you’re looking for
4. Under the heading picture you’ll see another menu. Click on ‘HELP AND GUIDANCE’
5. Scroll down until you see the title ‘POSITION STATEMENTS’
Unfortunately the way that the position statements are loaded onto the website isn’t consistent, so you’ll need to open each one every time you look, to check to see if it’s been updated.
